Equipment Patrol

There aren’t a ton of fashion podcasts. There isn’t as much about the style and culture surrounding it as it is about crime or politics. And while, of course, those are nice to get away from or do the exact opposite (stay informed), sometimes podcasts with more niches turn out to be more entertaining, with their innate ability to change the way you watch. that jacket you own, which was probably made overseas, or teaching you how COVID is changing the way e-commerce works.

On the contrary, some of these podcasts only briefly mention fashion and focus – using that term loosely as many of them favor stream of consciousness over structure – on culture at large. But that makes them, by definition, attractive to more people. You will surely find one that piques your interest, especially if you are a fan of the masculine style.

Articles of interest

A 12-part subseries of the 99% Invisible podcast, Articles of Interest tackles one topic at a time. An episode can take jeans, for example, and dissect the tendency to wear them even when they’re Great Worn in. “You can learn a lot by looking at an old pair of blue jeans” is not just a line in the show’s notes, but the main theme of the whole episode. Other episodes focus on fakes, suits, diamonds, and pockets, to name a few.

Since when

How Long Gone is by no means a menswear podcast, but the two hosts just did a tour sponsored by Woolrich. And one of them, Chris Black, has contributed styling and travel articles for GQ, Vanity Fair, Vogue, New York Magazine Architectural Digest and more. The episodes are long and sometimes far from lucid, but the two form an odd pair. Their take on pop culture hits hard, but the lighthearted humor about Drake’s love of gloves, for example, keeps the mood going.

Central Division

New episodes of Central Division — that is, those released after July 2021 — are only available to subscribers to the podcast sub-pile.
