Ace Designer Archana Jaju’S Latest Collection

The latest Revival collection from acclaimed Hyderabad-based designer Archana Jaju is inspired by red-crowned cranes, a species of bird that symbolizes grace, beauty and unquenchable life. Formal couture and ready-to-wear celebrate the bird by depicting it through intricate embroidery and a tranquil color palette.

Focusing on dwindling species numbers, Archana has taken the story of their resurgence and turned it into a collection that plays with color and supports local art. “These birds are considered sacred and my stitching celebrates their existence as a reminder of the (indomitable) human spirit,” says Archana.

Kalamkari is an art form that has always been dear to me and has always been part of many of my collections. Presenting it with such a beautiful theme in mind and with a more diverse color palette is what makes this collection even more special,” the designer shares.

Lined with tantalizing embellishments of threads, sequins and mirrors, the aesthetic of the collection seems closely tied to the muse. “It is inspired by the spirit of young, professional and independent Indian women, and features formal and ready-to-wear Indian designs,” says Archana, who adds that her latest collection symbolizes an amalgamation of characteristics that she associated with the urban. woman — that of constancy, perseverance and resilience.
