Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts to thousands of children in the Cabarrus / Stanly County area each year.

As part of the registration process, The Salvation Army collects the information necessary to determine qualification for participation in the program and details about each angel. Once a child (or older adult) has been registered and accepted as an angel, their first name and Christmas wish list are shared with generous community donors who purchase new clothes and toys as gifts. . The gifts are distributed to the family to place them under their Christmas tree.

Unfortunately, not all angels are chosen by a donor, and not all donors include a mix of toys and clothing for their angel. Join the Salvation Army Female Auxiliary and the Honeycutt team in their mission to provide new clothing to every Angel Tree candidate. The Salvation Army had over 2,000 (800 more than the previous year) Angel candidates last year. And there were 800 “forgotten” angels not chosen by a donor. We expect the need to be just as great or greater this year.

To help provide essential clothing, we are hosting a drive-in clothing drive on Saturday, November 20 from 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Team Honeycutt parking lot, 13339 Concord Parkway N in Concord. Diane and Betty are founding members of the Women’s Auxiliary and over the years have provided support in different ways. “The team is thrilled to contribute clothing this year to help the Ladies Auxiliary have a successful event. Helping to organize this event is our honor and our pleasure!
