Fashion show honoring Black History Month in Aurora

The event includes lots of family activities, local food and live entertainment.

AURORA, Colo – A fashion show is planned for downtown Aurora to honor Black History Month.

The show is free and scheduled for February 19, from 4-6:30 p.m. and is presented by Black Perl Entertainment. It will be hosted downtown, specifically on Center Court between Macy’s and Dillard’s (lower level).

“We look forward to welcoming guests for an enjoyable event while celebrating our Black-owned businesses and artists in the Aurora community,” said Joel Boyd of Downtown Aurora. “Having Lenny Harold here in Aurora is exciting for us, and Downtown Aurora is thrilled to welcome him.”

Downtown Aurora said the show will include:

  • A KidX Club area where families will have the opportunity to participate in crafts and balloon twisting activities
  • Food samples from Miss Millie’s Kitchen
  • 20 Denver and Aurora area vendors
  • Five performances, including former Black Street member Lenny Harold

Local and state masks and social distancing protocols will be enforced, the event page said.

This event said the center is a great way to bring the community together to celebrate Black History Month and showcase many black-owned businesses in Aurora and Denver.
