Fendi Spring 2022 Men’s Collection at Milan Men’s Fashion Week – Footwear News
Anyone who claims that fashion is no longer exciting may not be looking at the men’s section.
In recent years, the menswear market has seen a seismic aesthetic shift, reverting to genderless and even feminine ideas that not so long ago seemed overdone or too costumed for the average man.
Now, Fendi has added to the conversation. During its Spring / Summer 22 men’s show on Saturday during Milan Men’s Fashion Week (which returned to the events in person), the Italian luxury brand presented a sophisticated line in pastel hues that was much more dressy than last season. . It also offered a glimpse into how gender specifics could be mixed with key men’s basics for a progressive new look.
The crop tops were the most prominent. Pastel suit jackets were cut sharply in the middle, paired with low rise pants (cut in the relaxed fit that has been on trend in recent seasons, hem gathered at the bottom). Another look showed a mint green suit with a loose jacket and relaxed tapered pants paired with a sporty crop top underneath, a silhouette and styling technique not uncommon in contemporary women’s collections. Punctuated with sporty sandals, sunglasses and a slicked back hairstyle, it was the epitome of genderless clothing in 2021.
About this sandal: She was in full effect on the Fendi runway, a continuation of her appearance over the past few seasons and a sure sign that she won’t go away even in 2022. They came in greens and pinks and soft neutrals, sometimes paired with ankle chains, other times worn with floral patterned pants for a more feminine effect. A series of soft moccasins
To be clear, this isn’t the first time in history that menswear has turned to crop tops, strappy sandals, or whatever is currently defined as feminine, for that matter. Throughout history, men’s fashion has fluctuated in its decorum. Today, it seems to be on the rise again.
