The reality TV star said she ended her intermittent relationship with the TV personality, 34, last year after saving him from an overdose and “never got a thank you “.

The couple ended their relationship last year and Gemma has since reunited and re-engaged with her former partner Rami Hawash.

Speaking of James’ cocaine addiction, she told the Sunday Times: “I’ve saved him from death three times, never got a thank you.”

Gemma said that once, while filming Dancing on Ice, she received a phone call because no one could reach James.

She said she knew “instinctively” to call for an ambulance and went to visit him at Whipps Cross Hospital in London, where he was “in a bad state”, before discharging the next day.

Last year, James revealed that he is struggling with a cocaine addiction and has used it heavily over the past seven years.

He began his recovery in 2020 after spending ten weeks at a training camp in Thailand, after calling his best friend and former TOWIE co-star Mark Wright for help when he reached the Christmas 2019 background.

Her comments come after she confirmed her engagement after accepting a second marriage proposal from longtime boyfriend Rami Hawash.

“They haven’t been together for two years. I know her, she has a partner, she is worth gold. There’s a kid involved, he’s only three, obviously I love him to death.

“But until these papers are signed, I cannot go out. ”

The reality TV star previously wore a diamond ring on her engagement finger in December, when she was featured in a new campaign for supermarket chain Sainsburys.

Her relationship with Hawash rekindled last Christmas as Britain braced for a third nationwide lockdown, months after her six-year stop-start romance with James Argent ended.

The businessman, who runs an auto repair business in Romford, dated Gemma for two years before proposing to her in December 2013 by hiding an engagement ring in a Christmas pudding.

However, the engagement was short-lived, with the couple confirming their separation the following year.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline in December, Gemma reflected on the attempt to have a baby with Hawash and admitted that they “often report” to the mother of two, Amy Childs, a close friend of the couple.

She explained, “I was with Amy Childs on the weekend and we had a friend’s wedding and she’s like a guru on how to get pregnant.

“She was telling me that there are certain days in the month when you have to do this.” So I basically appointed her to be responsible for my pregnancy.

“She told Rami what days we had to do it and stuff.” So we report to Amy every time we do! ”

The TV personality is already acting as the unofficial “mother-in-law” of three-year-old Tristan, the son of Hawesh and his ex-wife.

She added: ‘I have the greatest gift of anything my partner has given me. I have a beautiful three year old stepson and I have a really good relationship with his mother and it is so sweet that they let me be a part of their life.

‘Tristan, he’s handsome. I love him so much. He is the apple of my eye. Along with Tristan, our family is so obsessed with him. And my nephews Hayden and Kane are so good to him, he’s like the new little baby on the stage.

“They love him as much as I do and he loves them. He’s just part of our family.

In February, she admitted she was ready to start a family after watching parents Alan and Joan struggle to recover from COVID-19 during the height of the pandemic.

She said The sun: ‘I feel very good in my 40s. I think it’s Gemma’s year. I overcame a lot. I just feel like I’m ready for a baby.

“I have had an incredible career over the past 10 years. I now have my house. I’m settled in, so I’m ready for action! ‘

Gemma revealed that she read tarot cards with a woman named Emma who seemed to foreshadow her engagement by predicting great things in the near future.

“She says I’m definitely going to have a baby this year and I’m definitely going to get a ring on my finger,” she revealed. “It better be a big one. I want a yellow diamond. A standard. A gigantic!

“I keep saying, ‘You’re kidding, I can’t see it happening! But let’s see if his predictions come true. I hope so, I hope so.

TV personality has already suffered three miscarriages, with third to come in July 2020 after she fell pregnant with ex-boyfriend James Argent’s baby.

She revealed the loss shortly after Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle announced she had lost what would be her second child with Prince Harry.

Gemma said The sun: I’ve never talked about it before, but this was my third, each a devastating loss on my long-awaited journey to motherhood.

“I’ve been trying to have a baby for almost a decade now, but my hopes are dashed time and time again with a first miscarriage, then another.”
