Last week, Milan was lit up with design-related events as part of Salone Del Mobile and Milan Design Week, which ran from June 6-12. As the annual design week focuses on lighting design, furniture design and more, it’s interesting how fashion designers are taking a different approach when designing interiors. And they didn’t fail design week. Here are some highlights.
The German fashion designer kicked off its foray into interiors with its new home collection, with a stand at Salone Del Mobile. He created a new collection for the home photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth and created in collaboration with furniture company Eichholtz and wallpaper company Zambaiti Parati. “I designed a truly immersive and experiential collection. Toiletpaper is more than just a magazine, it’s also a fashion and interior design company by artist Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari. They not only throw big parties, but create everything from cat sweaters to cheeky slogans on bathroom mirrors. They also have a showroom in a house that got a lot of attention on Instagram, which they call Casa Toiletpaper (last week they announced Via Balzaretti, the street he calls home, as Toiletpaper Street , with a marble slab).
