The installations are inspired by four cities, including HK, Shanghai, Seoul and Paris. Each exhibition reinterprets the contrasts between the cultural identities of these cities and the work itself. Along with the physical exhibits, a selection of virtual images are in store to guide visitors through a synchronized VR mode experience.
Visitors can order online from the pop-up store to experience how exhibiting and online shopping are seamlessly merged. Juxtaposed 2022 Fashion Meta also leverages the latest encryption technology and works with Artify and Boax to launch Hong Kong designers’ first NFT fashion collection. The work of 12 local fashion designers will enter the global virtual marketplace, seamlessly bringing together reality and virtuality.
The Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association welcomes 70 local design units to the metaverse for its Juxtaposed 2022 Fashion Meta currently being held in Hong Kong and ending June 23, 2022. Juxtaposed 2022 Fashion Meta is conceptualized around 4 themed exhibition areas , where local fashion design units tell their stories.
The event uses patented technology to host the city’s first 360-degree virtual fashion show at the venue. Guests will immerse themselves between real exhibits and a virtual universe. Visitors will see their virtual avatars generated in real time to “try out” wearable artwork from various designers in the imaginative realm of JuxtaVerse.
The opening ceremony took place on June 9, where the Young Talent Awards were presented to two young fashion designers Tiger Chung and Alex Tse. The event is sponsored by Create HK.
