That’s what athlete Ravi Dahiya said about his podium debut
Lakme Fashion Week, in association with the FDCI, saw Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya turn the spotlight on talented fashion designer Mohammed Mazhar. Dressed in a rustic indo-boho style outfit, Ravi amazed the glamor world and the fashion fraternity with her graceful yet elegant appearance in the digital showcase.
Dahiya is already considered a wrestling icon and now, with his debut on the ramp, he’s ready to inspire young people to work hard and shine in more than one area. His personality and athletic physique make him a perfect choice for the fashion industry as he dazzled Mazhar’s show with his presence. He seemed as comfortable on the ramp as he was in the wrestling ring.
Debuting in fashion, Dahiya said: “I am very happy to be a part of FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week. Dressing in designer outfits and walking the ramp was as exciting as the wrestling. Mohammed Mazhar is a talented designer who took inspiration from the ‘khaat’ (cot) to create an amazing outfit to make me look great.
The creations of fashion designer Mohammed Mazhar have always found inspiration in the marginalized communities of India. He believes these communities contribute directly or indirectly to the fashion industry. Having Ravi as his highlight, Mazhar said, “Ravi is a perfect match for my collection. More than a show, I share similarities with Ravi as we both come from small towns and have carved out a niche for ourselves internationally.
